Prolific and Other Priority Offenders

(PPO Scheme)

The East Riding has a very small number of offenders who pose a disproportionate threat to the safety and confidence of local communities, through their criminal or anti-social behaviour.

The Prolific and Other Priority Offenders Scheme (PPO) addresses this group in three strands:

Catch and Convict:

Assertive targeting of active prolific offenders.

Rehabilitate and Resettle:

Offering prolific offenders a range of supportive options to address their offending or face a swift return to the courts.

Prevent and Deter:

Stopping people becoming prolific offenders.

The PPO partnership brings together members of local agencies trying to reduce re-offending rates; a target that cannot be successfully achieved by one agency alone.
